Hi All
It looks like the bearing is a standard open 6300 bearing. Is it standard or C3 clearance??? Anyone got a new one to check?
Cheers

I just got a replacement pattern one from Norbo. I’ll dig it out of the box and put a pic up later if it will help.

Here you go. I think the genuine one has a plastic cage but here is a pic of the old one I have taken out (left) and the new from Norbo one I am going to fit (right) New one on its own

its just a standard bearing, doesn't need C3 clearances as its running in oil and not heavily loaded, still available from Yamaha etc and also most bearing stockists as its a standard NTN/Koyo bearing

Thanks. That gasket does not look very good. The ones I make are a perfect fit. The part that sticks out should have a parallel slot in it, not tapered. This is one of mine :- I would not trust his bearings either, as may be a cheap Chinese one and is sealed, when it should be open so it gets lubricated by the oil in your gearbox.

Most of the time the waterpump gaskets in the kits are a terrible fit. You should defo advertise some of yours in the sales section Rob, if i'd known you have them Id have bought a bunch a while back :/

As Dave said it runs in oil, so why would you want a shielded bearing? Jon

Your correct , the gasket wasnt a brilliant but its sealed well enough when you look at the cost of the seal and bearing Vs Yam, its good value. No issues with the bearing n seal in a couple of years since its been installed...

An SKF 6300 is just over a lady. Jon

If never used to be a std bearing, it used to be made from rust proof metal and not a std clearance.
But Yamaha have a habit of changing things

Jon No....never even noticed it Jon, im a simple guy, a bearing is, sorry, was a bearing, if it fitted it went in...nearly every day is a school day with these things..I'm not worried eitherway. ...ill let you know when bearing stops doing the bearing thing...at 250-500 miles a year, i expect it'll need that cover off for something else before hand.
