250 & 350s have a drain hole in the crankcases behind the cylinders under the carbs. You have a water pipe there which goes from the alloy pipe behind the clutch cover up to the cylinder head between the reed blocks.
If there is a leak anywhere in that area i.e from the pipe, pipe connections, the small alloy piece which bolts to the underside of the head or even the head gasket itself, water will drip onto the crankcases and down through the drain hole in the middle and appear on the underside of the engine.
I had a similar leak and it was from the hose where it connects onto the alloy pipe behind the clutch case.

Mine was the o ring on the alloy pipe into the clutch case, could see it dripping onto the top of the engine case, running down through the drain hole, and then dripping off the case nuts.

ally pipe could be badly corroded and weeping (changed a good number of these in the past few years), or dodgy O ring, or water pipe, if not then the "T" piece gasket on the head and lastly of course, the head itself, only places the water can come from, unless you have a cracked/leaking barrel (highly unlikely)

Mine was the o ring on the alloy pipe into the clutch case, could see it dripping onto the top of the engine case, running down through the drain hole, and then dripping off the case nuts. I had this too. Was a drain down job of coolant and oil and removing rh case and replacing the o ring. Was a bit gutted as I looked at this seal and thought was ok when assembled first time. False economy should have swapped it for what they cost.

Only realised when I seen the new O ring on the bench

I got some slightly oversize O-rings as the standard ones don't have a very big contact patch.

Well water leak sorted thanks again ,,
Decided to fill tank up today and fire her up ,, first kick happy days , and then fuel coming out of the over flow of carb one side , Now sorted this but may be a temp fix and all good , took for a sneaky ride around the block and she just want Rev right out ,, seems like she is bogging out, so going to buy a carb kit and rebuild both carbs and hope this is the problem, Can’t really understand it as I have not done anything to make it run like this ,
