I always wondered why someone isn't selling official Sheene merchandise with the iconic 7 logo? after all he was the king of promotion etc in bike racing he pioneered it.

Hi, Been waiting for the new Dambusters and Sheene films for years, kind of gave up now. I was waiting on the new Kursk film coming out on the telly too, and watched it the other night. Like most of us on here, we will prob remember it being on the news circa 2000 or so, I do like a true story. I also read the book a while back, the film is ok, and I would rate it at approx 6/10 as per the net flix rating. Steven. www.bestnetflixmovies.com/movie/401200/kursk

I thought wow a new russian film about the 1943 battle cool, as there are some brilliant russian films out there about ww2 if you can be arsed with subtitles. will still give it a watch though.

The documentary Road narrated by Liam Neeson about Joey Dunlop and family is well worth a watch too, made more poignant by Robert Dunlop’s boys Death recently - that family has given a lot to road racing!

I first saw the Sheene documentary when I was a teenager living in County Durham with my parents and it blew my mind. Going to Daytona seemed like an impossible dream to me back then but I’ve been a few times now to watch the 200 and I always think of Barry as I walk or drive through the tunnel to the infield. Although the place has changed since the seventies it still has a great atmosphere.

Bazzer.. a true celebrity. And much missed. Someone who achieved greatness. Not like the plastic "celebs" who achieve fame in there own lunch break of self promotion. I hope if and when it gets released it does him proud.
