The thing I like about them is both wheels, or all 3 if fitted with a sidecar are the same and interchangeable. So when you see the outfits with a spare wheel on the back, it will fit anywhere if needed.

Yeah, quite like that myself. Looks as though it is at least 50 years old but it is only half that. Russian tech at its best lol. Don’t think you would be able to break anything on it or pick up a speeding ticket either. Go on Veg, you know you want to. It would look great sitting outside your house

I used to work at Carnaby in Bridlington. The company importing those Ural bikes that re-named them as Neval was just a couple of roundabouts up the road. So we would see them being tested in what was left of the race circuit, and they were pretty impressive for a 1950 BMW twin. The firm switched to importing a little Lada jeep thing later, and the transmission gears were louder than the motor. I don't know if anyone ever bought one, but if they did, they are probably still running, and still howling like a banshee in FWD!

They are actually based on a bmw r75 ww2 bike so won’t top 70mph but for bimbling around the back lanes here would be ideal.

Put a brown leather seat on it and a BMW badge and sell it to a hirsute hipster. Tell them its a 1940's factory bobber, that was used for an eastern summer holiday trip that went wrong, and was left in a barn in Russia. (and add 10k to the price.) I like it though.. still hanker for a Ural outfit.

I’ll have you know I don’t always have a beard sometimes I only have a handlebar moustache. I do fancy a combo as well with reverse gear 👍

I have a mate with a genuine Wehrmacht BMW outfit, post war - but you couldn't tell, complete with reverse and machine gun on the outfit.
Surprises people when it goes backwards. Uses it for WW2 re-enactments etc. Also has shares in a 1/2 track, and a big field gun.....

I like these as well. I work with a lot of east block people so was going to buy one. I didnt in the end because of the paperwork to get it road legal.
My favourites are the side valve types with with big flat cylinder heads and the clutch and brake levers that hinge on the outside

That’s what I was looking at originally they are based on the bmw r71 or the zundapp I love those external hinging levers I think they tend to be hand gear change as well.
