Sadly passed away on Monday from Dementia. That illness is a right b*****d. Thank you for making me laugh like no other. He directed The Life of Brian, easily my fave comedy film.

I was 15 when Life of Brian was released - my dad told me to go see it, he said I'd enjoy it. Big queue outside the ABC cinema, and a group of god-botherers with BLASPHEMY placards and such like. It was and still is the funniest film I've seen. Such a shame that he has died, and dementia really is an awful thing.

One Christmas many years ago we watched Life of Brian as a family on video (it was my copy) when I was a teenager and my Gran was with us for the hols. She hated it and moaned that it was blasphemous for years after... but oh how the rest of us laughed. It was and will always be a superb film.
