I know this may be a relatively easy one . I’ve had intermittent problems with the tacho and indicators and neutral light on start. The bike sits for quite some time and is regularly sorn. It now seems to not want to have a tachometer and indicators again.
What is the problem ? Is this CDI again? Can I bring it inside , warm it up and get it running again (the cdi unit) . The bike runs but seems to be slow boggy and not crisp
I’ve checked wires on the CDI but wondered if there is a culprit wire normally
It’s an RD350r

Make sure all of the fuses are correctly seated and give each a wiggle. I can't remember which but one feeds the circuits that you mentioned and may need replacing as the wire inside can come away and make intermittent contact.

Make sure the battery is in good condition and fully charged if it’s been left for periods without use.

Not quite so easy on a 350R, I never found one and the Haynes manual is the F2 one which it isn't Steve

Cdi wouldn't affect the indies or neutral light
The cdi to pv controller signal feeds the tacho and does not like running with no battery or knackered battery
The fact 3 things don't work sounds like an earth to me

Had an intermittent problem with my 350R a few years ago. Would be riding along then there would be no tacho, no horn, no lights or indicators. Got an auto electrician to look at it. It was the ignition switch which he sorted for a while then it began again. Bought a new ignition and its been ok since.

Thanks all so far- Battery is on charge but my optimate seems to go green very quickly Unusual as it normally runs all night on amber. I checked the fuse area and all good. There only seems to be 12.8 or even 11.8 even when battery has been telling me green on optimate. Not good as we should be looking at 13 ish . It worked very briefly and I have had this before . It’s a new bAttery a month ago but I’ve been on optimate for another bike instead of this rd. I’ve checked the ignition switch as well so all is really pointing to this battery again. I’ll charge overnight on a forced charge then try again

You could fit a small waterproof voltmeter so you can keep an eye on the battery and charging system.

Try ought guys I’m still flummoxed - still no signs of life . New battery . Voltage seems to be 12.06 from battery as I’ve charged it from new with pure car charger all day. See I motor seems a little more up to scratch on reset. Still no indicators or tacho.
Bike revs but suggish not raspy or quick to redd st puns do is definitely running from batt not alternator (I think) Could the 12v rectifier have packed up ? The tacho has been intermittent occasionally and the bike fits a lot. I did change controller a few years ago.i doubt its that. The ignition switch is good I’ve had it all out .
What does rectifier control ?
Big help needed as I’ve sold the bike and now she’s playing up prior to customer pick up
Cheers
