I am going to run my F2 as a naked bike... I already have the round headlight and some brackets. I want to use the original gauges but I need to make a bracket. My idea is to make one from steel plate mounted to the top yoke pinch bolts, either in stainless or powder coated ms... It will be old-school technology, sawing, filing, bending, drilling etc... unless anybody has a suggestion of a better solution? These are ‘em, they will be stripped and cleaned, frame re-painted, new foam dampers and fresh screws to the rear of the clocks...

You’d probably be better off making a completely different mounting plate and reorganise the individual locations, I think keeping the layout as is currently gives an awkward look when not hidden behind a fairing.

The issue, as Shytalk said, is that the F2 clocks can look bulky and awkward when not hidden behind a fairing. I had a Tzr350 some years back. I wanted to ditch the fairing, so made some brackets to mount the F2 clocks to the top yoke. The ignition barrel siting meant the clocks had to be further forward than I wanted so they cleared the barrel, and they ended up looking a bit "too much"; er 019 by dusty miller, on Flickr If I had kept the bike I would have done some serious modding to the clocks, but I swapped it for an Lc2, so never rectified the issue. Well, the FZR clocks have arrived.... managed to get a tenner off the asking price too. They’re not exactly cheap but I guess they are quite rare so just about worth it. As usual with tws the items have a bit of damage, both the plastic mounting lugs need plastic welding and the top metal frame is a bit bent so needs straightening and re painting... but the plastic outer shell is decent except for a small mark... all in all I think they will make a decent job. Thanks..

Usually getting a set of cases for £50 is fine
The 2 little "ears" on the plastic case at the clock mounts is normal and makes no difference to the fit or looks of the clocks
I have in the past cut some pieces of plastic to shape but instead of gluing them to the plastic case I glue them to the metal top plate

Yeah Steve, You are right they wont affect the fit, I’ll try to weld them anyway..... Thanks for the link, it was a good call 😄
