Sorry if it has been asked before, but which battery do you recommend for the 350LC?

Do you mean lead acid VS glass mat or lithium types or just a brand and ratings??

Batteries never seem to last long enough, pay what youre comfortable with. If you want brand advice search the forum, plenty of info about them on here.

I just buy the cheapest thing my local dealer has (usually £20) and bin it every 2-3 years

I wouldn't buy lead acid only because if the bike goes over or the vent pipe comes adrift, it could potentially damage the bike, AGM for me.
Ive used Motobatts plenty in the past on the diesels, fitted the one on my 350LC in 2013 and one for the 500 in 2015.
All still going strong but all my battery's are, the bikes get used in the Summer and over Winter I take them off, bring them into the house and charge them once a month...We all have our preferences/methods but Ive never replaced a battery ive bought myself yet.

Can an AGM battery be charged with a regular trickle charger?

AGM for me as well. How many times have you seen acid damage on a bike from the vent pipe. I’ve got a Motobatt in the LC and a generic in my other bike. Both have been no problem. Hold charge well between use. I charge occasionally with a normal trickle charger.

Any of the cheap lead acid batteries. The Motobatt batteries I've had in larger sizes have been fine, but pretty useless and short lived for two strokes.
There's another thread discussing it on here.

Thanks for all the comments, much appreciated as I haven't had an LC since the mid 80's and getting back into them is totally different from when I was a teenager.
Hope to meet up with some local LC owners if there are any in my area (Carlisle, North Cumbria)

I took the advice on here and went for the Mottobatt MB5.5U which wasn't much more than a normal acid battery. It arrived today

Unless you have modern ignition, that needs a good 12V supply, I'd go for a sealed lead acid jobby from a burglar alarm. Just a small one, they are less than a tenner & seem to last really well.
