Welcome aboard. You might find the German 250 is fitted with 4L2 carbs and exhausts, both restricted. So you may have improved stopping with the twin disc 350 set up, but reduced go!
Might be worth checking before you purchase as you might want to change them. I've certainly got a set of UK 4L1 carbs and I think a decent set of 250 unrestricted pipes if you do buy the bike and want to convert.
Enjoy the forum.

Welcome in.
The 4L2 carbs are the same as 4L1, so good to use on a 250 as long as jetted to suit. :-) Just the number will be different.

The forum is going to be my preferred place when I buy, not to save money though I think I will in the long run. It’s more that I will know what standard of bike I am getting and paying what it’s worth, also there are certain things I would like in the spec so it might be that I end up with a tidy bike but needing tyres and a shock, possibly even an engine rebuild.

Welcome to the forum, definitely a great source of information, help and advice, worth listening to some of the guys on here, as hey really know these bikes, Norbo has a great parts shop with all manner of things you might need, and lots of things you wouldn't think of, but will buy anyway ...... these bikes, although old, slow and Smokey, will not die
Many of the owners are the same.

Welcome to the forum, I’m just outside Gloucester. Have been to a couple of bike nites this year, did you go to the Thunder Road nite there was 3 LC,S there one with a power valve engine installed. My 500 is currently off the road for no other reason than just to busy extending and renovating house but planning on being back in the road in the spring, hopefully. Rich
