Does anyone know if you can identify a headlight unit from the markings on the front as to whether it's LHD or RHD beam pattern?

Easy to identify Euro headlights have a metal shield in front of the bulb. Also the glass pattern is different Shield visible here

I'd like to see pictures of both beam patterns, I understand that the UK version aims slightly towards the left/pavement but is the throw any shorter than the universal/centred one?
Who actually rides their LC when it's dark anyway, not many I bet.

Both have the same glass on them Yes the UK lc2 had a 29l part number and the USA had a 33e part number but that's because the USA bike don't have a pilot light in them I buy USA headlights and fit the glass on the euro reflector to convert them. When compared to a UK one the lens pattern and the glass markings are the same Steve

I wonder if they went for a universal one then that dips neither left or right
I would have presumed that those of us that drive on the left would have lights that dip to the left aka UK and vice versa
Its an interesting one

Confused. (Doesn't take much these days!) I have two headlights, one has the three rectangles above the centre and one has the bit that looks like //////, I fitted the second one as it had E4 on it so thought it likely to be the correct one of the two, but dip kicks up to the right not the left.
The E4 one also says in the centre, H4 6R9 and in a square on the bottom left, A, HCR, E4, 17.5, 82R7, 82R20, there is no arrow pointing to the kerb.

Who actually rides their LC when it's dark anyway, not many I bet. Indeed, but my friendly MOT guy flagged it up, and while it wasnt a problem, I don't take the same issue to him twice. He knows I'll sort stuff and trusts me to do it, do if I turned up the following year with the same thing, he would be disappointed, and rightly so.

My UK headlamp, which is the same as OEB's picture gives a better spread of light on the road than its european version.

I have a Euro version on mine. Come MOT time I tape off the bottom rhs half quadrant of the glass as looking at the bike from the front. MOT. passed, tape comes off. I never ride it at night anyway.

Thanks for all the info chaps, seems if I swap to the other unit I have with the three rectangles above centre all should be good.
