I've used Plastikote bbq paint, black satin a few times. I find it remains satin if you don't over bake it after applying. Max 40mins at 120 degrees should do it. Much longer and starts to matt off a bit.
And yes, it smells!

Its gonna smell (a lot) but if its not high temp its gonna come out screwed

In the past I've got the oven fairly hot, then turned it off and put the parts in, so they go in hot but are gradually cooling. Seems to cure the paint well and not affect the finish. Dusty

I painted the brake calipers on my katana build with simoniz engine enamel, cured them at 80○ for 20 mins, seemed to work well...

I only have a gas oven. Used Gas mark 5 for 20 mins then left in overnight to cool off.

She'd punch my lights out if I tried this at home. Years ago when I was single I heated a chain grease tin up on the stove and dropped chain in, then for some reason took the short cut through the lounge on way to back garden tripped on mat and spilt molten chain grease all over the carpet. That took some getting out, thankfully heavily patterned carpet and the slight stain it did leave was not that visible. The joys of being single.

I do the PJ1 Fast Black Engine Case paint in my gas oven at 200*F for about an hour.
Cures very hard and doesn't seem to change the finish much.

Your not cunning enough Wait till she is out and do it then explain the smell by saying you decided to clean the oven while she was out but must have used the wrong stuff as it didn't work and it stunk when you turned it on to dry 😉 Steve

...and whilst your at it, put all the grubby plastics in the dishwasher to get all the oil and grime off and blame that on the dirt from the oven trays you tried to clean after the oven problem.
