Anyone know how to test a fuel gauge and fuel sender mine is stuck at 1/4 tank with the wires disconnected ,it was like that when I got it and I never put fuel in it,my manual is for a 500 so no fuel gauge

It may sit like that with no sender connected
They tend to be heavily damped so they don't shoot all over the place
Without the sender indicating low or hi it may do nothing
Withould connecting the wiring and moving the sender you won't know

I tried that no change ,maybe needs the ignition on I’ll get my battery fitted and try again

I thought it did but I didn’t move when I first got it I’m just getting round to all the crappy stuff while I’m waiting on me pipes i cant got out to my garage just now as the streets full of travelers f**king up my neighbors drive
