Is it a screw driver job?

Screwdriver or drill through the barrel

They can be picked and saved. Give Simon Wells a shout, he saved an alloy offset one that was stuck on one of my tanks for me.

Have you got a local locksmith ? Maybe they could do it for you. I know you aren't bothered about saving the cap but if you chew it up and it still doesn't release, you may find it even harder to remove. Having said that, it isn't exactly a quality lock !! Dusty

A big flat blade screwdriver in the middle of the lock, press down firmly and turn the driver counter clockwise and it’ll undo.

I must have done something wrong. Drill bits snapping and once the metal locking assembly of the cap fell in the tank. Maybe I'm just useless.

I managed to undo one recently on a tank I bought with the key from my bike. Lot of wiggling.

Well, thought I just try the key from the new ignition barrel I bought and it opened the cap straight away!! Result
