So I fired up the 31k for the first time today, started fairly easily and seems to be be ok other than running very rich, when I turn off the fuel it all settles down and runs sweet until it runs out of fuel obviously. So what should I be looking for?? its running 22.5 pilot jets, std needles and they are in the middle postion, the correct float bowl is on (I think, bowl with hole on choke side?) float set at 21mm. Also, how do I seal the pipes as they go into the sleeve on the barrels, they are leaking on that joint. These are Mutt's pipes. Phil sLgRQjWeTqKe6I6HjRvUuQ by Philip Millard, on Flickr

leaking at the joint?, they don't normally, can you take a photo and send me it as that's a first if they are leaking as they shouldn't, should be a good snug fit onto the alloy gasket in the barrel and onto the collar on the down pipe

Hi Dave, its around the collar but I wasn't worried about it, Id assumes where it was running rich and first start up its a bit oily, so it was a question that I wanted to just do something "in case" I will whip them off and look at the joints. It not at the gasket to the head.
Any idea on the running rich? if it was crap somewhere in the carb it would show with those symptons would it? like the dreaded brass ball issue!
Thanks, Phil

What a coincidence.
I fired up my F2 for the first time in 3 years after a resto.
