i bought some of these just for the reeds and screws to use on my genuine blocks which were 30+ years old. work ok. i`m sure someone posted some of these up here recently and they were a lot cheaper (also on ebay)

I swopped over the fiber petals. And after 1000km there was noticable wear. Pieces missing at the top. So they wear very quickly. My advice to stick with the metal ones. Now i use the vforce4. I dont know how long they last.

I have been told by a reputable tuner that the ethanol in the fuel can play havoc with the reeds

I mostly use 102 as well. The station is close to my house. Until now i have had no damage, maybe inferior quality material used for the reeds.

May be the curved metal part can play a role. Mine were more curved. For a wider opening i presume. So the travel and landing speed of the petals were bigger.

REAL yama Reed blocks, albeit for a Banshee are 69 U$ EACH from partzilla... plus shipping and the usual UK Import Tax sodomy. Gee.. what could be the problem with Ebay ones.. carefully manufactured by the One Hung Low Noodle and Machine works.
