A steam engine? Looks well Dandy. It must fit right in with the impression I got whilst visiting Manchester. A great place to go out for a beer/cider 😁

I still have one of my old Mamods steam engines in the garage. I last run it a couple of years or so ago, as the weans used to say "can we play with that old engine ?" when they were younger. After a while, I realised they wernt too interested in the engine, it was just getting to play with fire they liked ! The Xbox and PC soon gets forgotton about one you give a millenial/snowflake some parafin and matches to play with ! :-) Steven.

Yep, fire was always a firm favourite in my childhood. Yes its a Stuart number 4 engine, it was genuine fun machining and building that, but no not run it yet.

Hi Andy, Very nice, and it will have been VERY expensive if its a Stuart Turner model. Stuart Turner also used to make small 2 stroke petrol marine and stationary engines, I almost bought a small Stuart Turner 2 stroke engine a few years back, it had a cracked cylinder, but I was going to have a go at repairing it and running it as a stationary engine. It turned out the old bloke wanted too much money for it, so I didnt get it. Your model will run fine on some compressed air Im sure. Are you going to run it on steam ? do you have a boiler ? If you run it up, please post a video for us. Thanks, Steven.

No Steven, I'm not going to run it on steam, it would have no issues I'm sure but I did machined it to see if I could actually be arsed to do a bigger one so I'll buy a kit for something between a 1 1/2" to 3" traction engine kit which I do intend to run on steam, I imagine you'll see the results of that build in about 3 years lol.
