The cable on the 350LC 4L0 from the oil sensor to the loom looks much shorter than i remember from previous builds. It almost pulls away from the loom as I tilt the oil bottle as though to refill it.
Is it possible the sensor has come off a YPVS or air cooled RD?

Hi Shaun An Lc sender is 3 wires. A Ypvs sender is 2, provided all models of Pv are the same - F2 is definitely 2 wires as I've looked at the wiring diagram. I think the Pv sender body is a different length to an Lc too. Dusty

As Dusty says the lc is 3 wire and the f2 is 2 wire
The only spanner in the works is that lc2 was 3 wire as well but not checked the part numbers to see if a different part number to lc

Perhaps someone can measure the length of cable on a known 4L0 oil level sender?

Just measured mine, 250mm (10 inches ooh err Mrs!) from centre of sender to end of connector plug.
Connector then fixes to larger clip under tank mount on rear mudguard. Plenty of slack when tilting to refill.

Thanks fellas. Just taken one off my other 350LC to compare.
The one on the rebuild did only have 2 connectors to it, but strangely the connector block did fit into the one on the harness so obviously I didn't look close enough. It was already resident in the oil tank so just left it as it was. This one has cable length about half the 350LC one, so that's why its tight.
Probably is off an F2 as stated above. Anyone want to swap for LC one? If not, I better get on fleabay!

The LC 4L0 one is the one on the right. My project came with the one on the left, which has the shorter cable with only 2 wires If anyone needs one like the one on the left, then give me a shout. Also if anyone has a spare 4L0 one, let me know as the one in the picture is off one of my other bikes so still need to get one for my project. Thanks.
