Hi guys, I have been looking for ideas and used the search function like a good boy , but can't find much info. So what options do I have for the Rear Master Cylinder other than the original item, I am using std footrest plates and RGV calliper. Also, other than the tube set up is there any other ideas for the reservoir? I've dragged the bike out and started playing again, its been a while since I did anything to it. Phil

Im all for trick stuff, but the original is the same bore size as most others mentioned, why not just use that as it fits the bike etc?

Mouse, I like that, no reservoir either which is nice, so is that a straight swap, are your footrests YPVS ones? what does it fit?
Jon, I take your point, but my master cylinder is seized so if I'm changing I may as well put something nice on, the rest of the bike is far from std.

Its not about the brembo one being trick for me because as you say they are same fitment and bore size Yes A little bit of bling as it has "Brembo" on it but that's just like polished over painted The main attraction to me is that it is anodised rather than painted so not a blistered or painted mess that needs refurbing or as has been the case on the last couple of bikes I've bought seized solid Steve

I hear you Steve, Ive refubed so many of these its got to be silly and they seem to be arriving in worse condition every time. One thing tho, these were fitted to many Yams and can be found more modern than the 80s so in better nick etc.
I have the Brembo unit on my XT500, its a nice compact unit if you get the one with the correct orientation fittings so good for space issues like on that bike, XT5s are silly small, like moped sized.

I am pretty sure all the Brembo Master Cylinders have the same hole centres, as i had a normal one on before with these rearsets. If you like I can measure the hole centre distance? Mouse

Hi Phil The standard Pv master has a top mounting as well as a side mounting so different to Mouse's. Like this; 20150616_102820 by dusty miller, on Flickr Dusty

Phil Ive just put my seized rear master cylinder in an minutes it was free. A Tourmax (Probably OEM) kit for around £20 not only comes with new seals etc, but also a nice new zinc plated plunger so it can be made to look like new for very little money. Jon
