Hi Pete I started mine with an auxiliary tank with premix in it until I could fully bleed the pump. Leaving the petrol tank off meant I could check everything over once the engine was running. In fact, I probably run it up to temp 6 or 7 times before I fitted the petrol tank. If you need to adjust something it's easier with then tank off imo. Once running and ticking over, I look for any coolant leaks and generally just check everything is working as it should Dusty

As Dusty says start on some premix and let it idle for a while , check as she,s running..., I always look forward to the first start up after a rebuild.....Atb...

Don’t run a tank of pre-mix and the pump , as dusty says , a wee auxiliary tank , a coolant overflow tank works well , if you over oil then it will run like a bag of shite and you’ll be off on a wild goose chase trying to sort it Do a couple of heat cycles then check for leaks I usually find th e head will need a bit more , and it’s a good idea to check the crankcase bolts and nuts (top and bottom ) The exhaust flanges will probably require a tweak as will the cooland hose clips I’d also say get it mot’d before you do this insued and taxed too , as,if it runs ,and it’s not raining you know you’ll want to give it just a wee run
Enjoy Mike

yes, also bear in mind that premix is a leaner mix than straight fuel, so defo dont rant it on premix if jetted for normal fuel.

Congratulations Pete - great news. I've never used Tapatalk, but with Flikr you upload vids in exactly the same way as photos, just in case you have the option of Flikr. Dusty

Like dusty says the motor really is an easy one to work on . Ok I’ve done my Suzuki gt250 before and that was different to the LC but the lc really is a nice engine to work on . Don’t be scared of it guys if I can do it you all can just use the right tools ok 👍

Great looking bike and sounds nice as well. Are you using standard baffles or something slightly different?
