I got caught in hail like that, in Germany, on the Mosel. I was in my jag, and it was written off. 5 direct hits to the windscreen, bust it completely, and over 100 dints over the metalwork. Was most frightening sitting in it, whilst being pelted with huge ice balls.

I hear you, I was hit by huge hail also in Germany in 2009, almost wrote off my BMW. The thing about hail coming down is that youre powerless to do anything at all about it when it happens, you just get to watch it trash your car, glass deck fence and other things

I was working in Bremmerhaven and met some panel beaters in a bar. There was a crew of about 30 men from different nationalities to repair new cars which were parked in a holding area waiting to get distributed. It was hundreds of cars with hail damage.

snowdrops here steven mike Hi Mike, I never used to notice these things until fairly recently, must be an age thing. Its official then, snowdrops and daffodils in December = another great summer like this year. I heard some bloke on the wireless the other day, saying we will have summers like this year, for the next four summers, due to global warming. My hedgehogs didnt start hibernating until a week or so ago, and they should have been sleeping in November ! The world has gone Pete Tong ! Steven.

We had a hail storm last week something similar in the wheat belt, hail the size of baseballs, wrecked everything, punched holes in tile and tin roofs, car windscreens, crops you name it
We also had one in Perth a few years back, there were thousands of cars in car yards that got damaged, there were lots of write offs and cars being sold cheap
I also experienced one on a very hot day in the Pilbara region, it was 48 C that day and the usual monsoonal thunderstorms were rolling in, all of a sudden hailstones the size of the vents of the landcruiser ute i was driving came crashing down, they were about 3" in diameter, the impacts on the roof, bonnet and tray was deafening, luckily the rake of the windscreen is fairly steep so it survived, i had to pull over as i couldn't see a thing
Real weird weather we seem to be having all over the world
I hope you are safe Jon

Haha, have to laugh about the drone scenario... Well, you cannot shoot one down whilst its spying on you, above your property. I hope they shut down every f**king airport, that way, maybe the snowflakes in charge of this country will see sense and let us protect our privacy and property. And if you do nail one, Mr new age plod will come knocking on your door...unlike real Mr plod from yesteryear who would congratulate you on your marksmanship over a cup of tea.

Im going to buy one, soon, as they are going to make it that you need a licence for one in the very near future. They made it that I need a licence even for my f**kin slug gun or I have to give it up ! A SLUG GUN ! The only gun I have now is a plastic toy gun that I shoot out the kitchen window at the crows and sea gulls when they try to eat all the bird seed that I put out in the garden for the wee birds and squirells ! I know fek all about drones...but I bugger about a wee bit with radios, and read a thing about Geofencing...... and how easy it is to jump over the Geofence ! Steven. dronebelow.com/drones-geofencing-works-benefits-requirements/edit/PS ... This is the one Im getting ! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northrop_Grumman_RQ-4_Global_Hawk
