I have some needle bearings for the swing arm when it comes back from the powder coaters but there appears to be a more open end and a closed end
One side has more of a lip than the other side , so which way does the lip face ?

OEM RGV suspension linkage needle bearings have a rubber seal fitted by the needles, this has to go outboard to keep water out. I’m not sure if this is the case with the swingarm bearings.
For the swingarm: If I remember correctly the bearing bush will go thru the smaller diameter lip, so it should make no difference which way you install. In any case you will need to fit the long spacer first.
I think I fitted with the small diameter lip outboard without any issues.

In case anybody is interested (I've already spoken to headcoats) the two swing arms I have are both fitted with the thick side with the writing facing outward
