I kind of threw my project 350lc together to get it complete ready for a resto. Because it was thrown together I thought I’d push my luck and see if it ran, I told myself I’ll just putt it up and down the road a few times nice and slow. Unfortunatly I revved it a little more and felt the band start to poke its head out. Being a idiot I could not help myself. And no word of a lie it shocked the crap out of me, I’ve not felt one that strong before, I’ve thrashed R1’s around ect. It is fairly modified though. Now all I want to do is ride it, but I fear my inpatients seems to be getting the better of me as I’ve been having impure thoughts about parting company with it and buying a special, hybrid or something. You could always keep it and get a special too. You can never have enough.

It does bite just a shame I cannot get some wider tyres on it. The whole front & rear end conversions are a above my skill level, by the time I’ve found the conversion and paid to get it built I may just as well sold this one and put the money into a special. I dunno so confused lol I paid 2.2k for this originally and have easily sunk just over 1k to get it riding new tank ect.

Rgv conversions are pretty much plug and play with NK help, swing arm altered and a head bearing spacer, plus as long as you aren’t in the arse end of nowhere people on here are usually willing to offer advice and also get stuck in

Ha ha, I did that! Got my long term project running a couple of months ago and just had to give it a quick blast round the block, no headlight, indicators, tail piece or mudguard. I must have looked so illegal ( I was) but riding these bikes is FUN!!!

There is a VJ21 arm on ebay at the mo, already modded to bolt straight into an Lc - £200 - cheapest way to get an Rgv rear wheel in. Front end is a virtual bolt in. It's an easy conversion Dusty

Thanks for the link, I’ll have to have a look at my setup as I’ve got the metramax extended swinger with a aftermarket remote shock. So may need to replace the shock for it too.

Think my Mito conversion has got to be the cheapest yet. Less than £200 for both ends (including wheels!!)

I think it looks magic just as it is. Basically how we were doing them in the late 80’s. Leave it as is and enjoy it!

I made the same mistake back in 2000, dropped on the tank and seat, took it for a spin round the block, abandoned trying to do a near standard rebuild in favour of the quickest route to an MOT!
I just have to manage with the winter months doing a little bit more each time, but its a ride it was like in the 80's, not worried about standard, more "standard abused" with period addon's for the era!
