I'm toying with this as well despite having bought a new standard foam
P and K are £275
Norbo's are £195
Doubt they are the same as p and k make theirs them selves

The pic on there site looks like a really good replica, does norbo sell a complete seat or is it to fit a existing base ?

The p and k seat is a direct copy they used my original seat to create all the moulds, the cover is exactly the same down to the pattern and they invested heavily in a special steel press for both the pattern and the name imprint. I am not connected to them but support them as they are a tiny company that offer the only true replica of the gully seat

What is the main advantage for choosing a gully seat over the standard one in the first place? Is it really just about the way it looks??

Lol, thanks veg.
I dunno if it's because I hardly ever saw one on an LC back in the day but I kind of prefer the overall look/fit of the standard seat.

I'm no expert when it comes to the details on how accurate those seats actually are but the one i bought recently from P&K is really well made and i personally think it looks the Dog's bollox...
I have some close up photos somewhere I can post them up if you want...

cheers for posting that morgy that does look the dogs bollocks to be fair ! I’m going to order one and post the cheque off Monday considering a second hand seat is fetching stupid money I reckon that’s a good price for a hand made seat of that quality 👍

Dunno mate , but if you could get say 10 people wanting them then I would think you could get a decent discount, like the metmachex swingarm group buy?

I think it is a fair price, £275 for a brand new seat, originals are going for stupid money and they invested heavily in the tooling. I am self employed and I don't discount, grips my pooh. Metmachex were over priced for what they were.

Metmachex were over priced for what they were. As I said previously on this thread I think it is a fair price for a one off seat and I will be buying one anyway, I’m also self-employed and understand the costs involved to do a one off job but sometimes there can be more profit in doing a run of 5 or 10 units at a time for a cheaper price than by doing 1 at a higher rate, i will ask him politely on Monday and if he says no then no harm done 👍
