I'm getting the 4L1 resprayed. I know the tank decal should be lacquered over, but should the others be laminated? Cheers.

So they used to laminate the decals then put them on? Is lacquer the best route to go ? Yes Even on modern bikes only the tank decals are lacquered over All the rest are just laminated decals I got the image works to do it on my n1 build The problem is where on a modern copy decal where the bodywork colour is in the decal. The printing can't replicate the body cor so on the likes of an lc2 they just leave a gap for the colour to show through, not print the exact colour like oem Fine on a plain white or black bike where they can replicate Clear coating over does look better as the gloss is the same on panel and decal The benefit on the 31k ypvs bikes is the decal covers most of the panel so if scratched the decal can just be replaced Steve
