After fitting an headlight on a 4LO, how do you go about checking that the beam is set correctly for MOT purposes?
How many meters from a garage door/wall should the bike be and at what height are you looking for?
I know that I have a Euro style headlight so the beam pointing to the left isn't an issue on this occasion.

My MOT guy usually just adjusts it during the MOT for me. He isn't bothered if its a euro headlight either, just says 'you need some tape on that'. Never had a problem.

LOL reminds me of a place I used to MoT my bikes in the 80s. Middle of nowhere, up a farm track. Run by an old (in his 70s) guy and his sons..... The best way to get through was to give the bike a polish before you went. If the old man was doing it, he'd say "that's nice and clean" and just write out the ticket!! His sons were a bit more stringent- they'd normally want a free cigarette or two and a natter before kicking the tyres and applying pen to paper. Different times.......

Never had a problem with mine, as long as it lights up lol
I swap the lenses on the ypvs ones now
Glass is the same as lc and some weird custom bikes. XV springs to mind.
Smash the euro lenses and pick out the glass
Pull the stupid metal disc in front of the bulb off
Take the donor headlight and grind with a flap wheel around the edge of the metal bowl then remove the glass and clean off the sealant
Stick in the old euro reflector bowl with silicone
Job done

I don't think that I need to do anything to the headlight unit itself, it's been through one MOT fine. It's a 'universal' beam pattern so doesn't matter which side of the road you are driving on.

I thought the rd euro headlight dipped to the right
It was uk/usa/Aus/jap that had the flat beam
If you look at the headlamp you will see
Flat beam- bulb visible through lense. Top of lense has 3 rectangles in the pattern
LHD, right dip - metal deflector over bulb. Triangle section to one side on lenses pattern
To aim them I just roll it out into the street at night and angle the dip beam so it shines on the road about 50 yards ahead

Maybe my use of the word euro were incorrect.
