Can anyone tell me the width of a standard rear sprocket? I am just getting the bike finished prior to going to daves for set up and ordered a std o ring chain from norbo. It fits beautifully around the front sprocket as it should as it is standard. However the rear sprocket seems considerably narrower this is supplied by NK as it’s a one off for the rear wheel. I have measured the front sprocket it’s 9.4 mm wide the rear is only 6.4 mm wide I am guessing it’s for a narrower ‘lighter’ chain. Tia

Sounds like a standard 4LO 530 front and a YPVS 520 sprocket.

Bollocks bollocks bollocks. Thanks chaps I did wonder if it was a 520. So I now have to decide a new chain and altered front sprocket or wait months for NK to make a new one . This build is bloody fighting me at every bloody corner. Thanks again chaps 👍

Chains are imperial.
EG a 530 chain
The "5" is 5/8 inch pitch
The "30" is 3/8 inch width.
etc.

That’s right isn’t it? Forget this I have just read oeb post that negates this argument 👍

Ok this is the response from NK, so it appears I can have a std ypvs front sprocket but it needs a spacer to fit the 4LO? That correct? "Tim The front sprocket you will need is a standard ypvs front all the 350s after the 4L0 ran 520 chains. They are much lighter and give more clearance. Your quickest solution is a ypvs front sprocket. A ypvs sprocket spacer and a 520 chain I can have all that here for you Thursday. If you want a 530 rear sprocket making that will be a week or 2 to order in the blank and get it cut on the cnc Let me know what you want to do. And if you want me to sort a chain sprocket and spacer let me know how many links for the chain Nigel"

yep, get a ypvs front sprocket and ypvs front sprocket spacer, that will solve the problem, if not, I have them here anyway

If your sprockets are lined up on the inside faces, you will need to keep the front sprocket spacer you currently have fitted.

Rob is right, and you might need a small spacer on the outside of the sprocket to take up the slack for your shouldered nut.

I have run a 520 sprocket on an LC with the LC spacer and the nut still fitted okay.

Thanks chaps NK said he had done it so that it runs a 520 chain and ypvs sprocket shame he didn’t tell me as I now have a brand new front sprocket and o ring chain that are 530. Dave is going to sort sprocket and chain when it goes for finishing the wiring and dyno set up

I have run a 520 sprocket on an LC with the LC spacer and the nut still fitted okay. I agree Rob. Both the inside mating surfaces are in line, hence no matter which sprocket was fitted they would still be in line... The difference in width is minimal, hence the LC nut still works as designed due t the tolerances in the length of the thread I guess.

It's only an issue when fitting a YPVS engine into an lc chassis. Then the running out of threads on the output shaft /sprocket is a problem.
