Hello all Im in a dispute with yambits. I measured 26mm OD. Yambits says that al ypvs are 31,5? Yambits suggests someone has changed the case of my 31k. Who is right?
Cheers Marcel,

Just buy a genuine water pump seal, Yambits rubber parts, not the best quality according to on here. Also, getting a refund is a struggle as well.

I've just been and measured some old ones and they are 31mm OD x 13.5 wide.
On the ones I have here it has those measurements moulded in on the side also, so you might be able to see what the one you have has got on it.
Hope this helps.

Yes i am very sure. 31mm dies not fit. I took out the old waterpump seal and this is 26mm. The oilpump seal is 25mm or so. Is it possible that someone placed an 31/26 adapter? This is difficult to see. But why? Any reason? In the meantime i placed 2 stacked 26/10/7 seals. Costs 1.7€ a piece.

What size is the water pump bearing?

Answering my own question here
Bearing is 35mm which is only slightly bigger than the seal so either your case has been messed with or it's not a 31k case

Mmm i closed the cover already. But i remember vaguely that 29L was stamped on the inside. So maybe a 4LO cover then?

Just checked my spare casing you are trying to fit the seal in the wrong place the seal goes in from the inside (oil side) then the bearing, the 26 mm is inside the water pump behind the impeller

In my cover the 26mm is inside the oilside. It is not on the impellar side. The axle hole is about 11mm. The axle hole is water wetted. The 26mm hole is 14mm thick and oil wetted. I forgot to take pictures🤭

From the back, you have to put the seal in first, then the bearing.... :-)

No i replaced it with 2 stacked 26/10/7 seals. So i had the axle hole free. And the size of the hole was slightly, say 11mm, 1mm bigger than the 10mm pumpaxle.

But 31,5 mm seal wont fit. Im happy now with my 26mm seals. Just very curious what kind of cover do i have on my 31k? Wassup @ lelystad?

Attached photo, some seals are 2 parts pressed together rather than just one whole part. What the op looks to have done is flicked the inner part of the seal out and left the outer in the case. Then got some seals and stacked them inside the old outer body.

Then got some seals and stacked them inside the old outer body. This might be the explanation. But i want also a picture like you do. I agree open it up again will take an our for a specialist. But in my shed undo the fluids again is to much of a hassle. But the first thing i do when it is apart again is take a picture. Last time the seal was changed in 1996. May be another opportunity in 2040!😜
