My car got hit this afternoon on the A1 by an erratically driven Volvo. He had already made me brake to miss him the previous slip road
The bugger doesn't stop so I chase after him and call police
While on the phone he pulls over, there is an exchange of words and he goes back to his car and speeds off again
Best the person on the phone could suggest was to report it at a police station.
At this point by chance a police car shows up. Was gobsmacked when all he was going to do was show me where the nearest police station was 🤬.
Not interested in what the reg was, what make the car was or where it went
Is the t**t going to have to mow a kid down before the bother looking for him.
Really f*cked off

Shit will hit the fan if the "driver" kills a kid...but only if you've put a complaint in. They should be pursuing this driver as safeguarding joe public is number one priority.. Sadly the force is "manned" by a different breed of incumbent nowadays. Its a bloody good job you did not make a citizens arrest...No one will back you.. At end of day the pricks will say it's his word against yours. Only thing that will make them sit up is video evidence. (no work to be done on their part)

Only a matter of time till decent law abiding citizens take the law into their owns hands...as no one else is.

They dont have to care, and even if they did, and tracked down the car, they know only too well, the judge will let him off. so in a nutshell they are punching time to get paid.

AH , don't really want to get too wound up by this . Did you know that you cant rely on the Police . I think you will find they are mostly geared up to harass and collect . OH did you know since the last lot of riots, the Government have purchased a few thousand Armoured cars just in case of civil unrest .I think the local Plod are being brought up to speed on weapons training and tactics on urban suppression .

See my previous post about a drunk in charge who caused an accident and made off after using his vehicle as a weapon and caused me to jump out of the way. Sadly under staffed under funded etc etc

I could go one about this for hours. I won't.
In a nutshell they will stop you for an on the spot fine, no paperwork and they get a bit more dosh that all of them are required to get each month. If a 'minor' offence is committed, like an almost hit and run, dangerous driving, or totalling my flat and stealing everything, too much paperwork involved. I never had any faith or trust in the law from the age of maybe 8 and that trend continues...

Had my telephone interview and statement this morning
Takes all the details, agrees on causing an accident, failing to stop and failure to give details
He was astounded that a police car had actually stopped for me but didn't do anything about it. Not even putting the car details over the radio.
I told him the car was not taxed (checked it last night on dvla site). Not interested in that, said it's not a police matter anymore 😯
Asks me if I actually want it pursued.
Hell Yeah! Imagine that was a biker he hit.
I asked if it was a local car, I'll check it now he says
Yes locally registered then he gets all exited as he finds its not insured
At that point he changes his tune and starts checking anpr data as then they don't need my statement to prove the vehicle was on the road so they are actively investigating it
In summary they only seem driven to chase up crimes that have a guaranteed result and a statistic to add to their results

well oddly enough, they aren't even bothering with easy ones it seems, I had a car run over my foot *(while I was stationary oin the bike) and he did it on purpose, all on my bike cam, he refused to stop, pass details etc, etc and even assaulted a friend of mine, all of this on the video, I reported it all, made my statement etc, etc, - got a letter yesterday, they aren't bothering to prosecute him or take it further, so the fecker gets away with running me over on camera and they aren't even bothering - what a waste of time, really has changed my view of things recently

The wife's car was stolen from our driveway a few years back, they never came round - just issued a crime number - they didnt even bother at all !
My work van was hit in a Morrisons car park by a woman driving badly, my van was parked, I was working on a service call out at the store and it was all seen by a trolley man and myself as I was walking back to the van, so we had the car reg, the woman got out and was swearing and abusive to the trolley man as he tried to speak to her about the accident and damage done to my van , she got back in her car and started to drive off again as I arrived , I got to the van as she spun the wheels and tore off, her vehicle was not taxed and we suspected she was drunk as the trolley man said she smelt badly of alcohol - I rang the police and reported the accident, I gave them the registration, full description of the vehicle and of the woman and that she was suspected to be drink driving, they told me to drive to a police station 20 miles away near where I live and do a statement later in the day ? I said WTF ! are you not going to pursue this car, she has just left the car park and could hit someone else, the reply was we will look into it . A few days later the same woman was back at the same Morrisons car park driving the same car in the same state and was swearing and abusive to store staff and then left, again she was reported by a member of the public and a staff member for driving a vehicle in that state - so they clearly had done nothing to stop her driving a vehicle that was certainly not taxed, probably not insured and probably not mot'd, she was clearly drink driving - but they had clearly done nothing to stop her driving it. My van had to go in to the body shop and have a new sliding door and rear quarter panel - the company insurance had to pay for the damage.
Yet they are quick to go hiding in bushes, in bus stops, behind trees and walls with speed guns, driving unmarked cars and riding unmarked bikes up and down our roads around here trying to catch people out -they are sticking average speed cameras where they can get away with putting them, they are buying more and more camera vans - its got fook all to do with accidents - its all a bloody big cash cow ! and they are certainly cashing in on it !

Dave that’s an assault if you want to push it further happy to advise you how to. Hi Veg, I did think about it, but decided to let it slide, but if the guy runs a biker off the rode and kills him I'll never forgive myself, but I tried to do the right thing and the police just clearly aren't bothered, I am going to call them at some point and tell them that if he does kill somebody and I hear about it I will make it public knowledge that the police had a chance to stop this idiot and didn't - ironically my postman told me today the guy is his father-in-law and he even said he is a complete tw*t - I won't go into how we ended up talking about it and how we put 2 and 2 together, but funny how things turn out sometimes !

I've had a result. Or thought I had. My ex is back in town...NO kidding. I actually confronted her face to face and she started screaming at me in the chemist shop saying I was harassing her. So I phone plod. Come in and make a statement and we will arrest her. OK, when? Just phoned them again and still no date for a bloody statement.
Useless f**king w#*#ers every last one of them.

We now live in a society where phoning the five "O is a complete and utter waste of time the world is fast becoming very Mad Max ish where you fend for yourself and do what needs doing law be buggered SO .... IF whatever it is that's happened has sufficiently annoyed the hell out of you Knock said person out throw them in the back of your van/car take said person to a very quiet spot and proceed to beat the hell out of them. Do this and repeat until you feel sufficiently good about it and/or until they are a gibbering bloody mess THEN warn them should they EVER cross or darken your path again they will find themselves at the bottom of a VERY deep hole never to be seen again ... especially in cases of theft or hitting your car or bike etc etc. In the case of Pikeys Immigrants and other bottom feeding low life scum IF they have robbed you stolen your bike or your car or hit your car or your bike or attacked you or your family knock em out take them somewhere 'extremely remote' dig big DEEP hole kick em in cover up hole job done always remember one thing though .. choose a nice sturdy shovel nowt worse than somethin c**kin up the job
That's one of the things I like about Cornwall .. there's LOTS of lovely countryside and out of the way places where you can literally lose yourself 'or someone else' quite easily

Got an update from the police
"Just to let you know, the vehicle that collided with yours was pursued by traffic police recently and a male was arrested for various offences.
The vehicle was seized under S165 and is being disposed of by the contractor."
Hopefully one more idiot off the road

I had a bloke hit my car a few years back causing quite a lot of damage and just carried on going, so I took his reg and reported it at the police station and told them he had possibly been drinking by his erratic driving, they said they could not go after him until they had written to the owner of the car and found out who was driving ! so basically if anyone has been drink driving and had an accident as long as they keep going they have days to sober up before the police will see them.

I gave my statement. All seemed well as I was told they will go arrest her the next day. I even have a witness now. So this has all been handed to plod on a plate. What have they done? Sod all. Not even rang the witness. And latest reports are she is in Scotland. Marvellous.
