Which pipes do people recommend for a lc fitted with a ypvs motor , it will be running std carbs and porting at first , then maybe big bore kit ? But would rather buy a set of pipes that will suit either? Any ideas? Had swarbrick pipes on my lc in the 80’s , what do people think? Tia jon

Hi Jon The pipes Mutts supplies are the, erm, nuts ! Mouse fitted a pair and gained about 14bhp I believe !! Plus I think Dave can supply the bits to convert to Athena barrels at a later date. Tsa are also good. I've got a stainless pair on my hybrid; 20180208_114120 by David Miller, on Flickr Short ally cans from Mutts though. Dusty

So people are saying tsa ? how much are they? And how long does it take to get them, are they stainless only or available in mild steel too?

I would go for either TSA Pipes or the Pipes through Muttsnuts. These are the stainless pipes through Muttsnuts on my valve

Dave's pipes do look great They are what I want next for my Tz/Lc project. The bonus with Dave is that he can set up the bike with the pipes fitted, so a complete service with any guess work removed. Not saying there is anything wrong with the TSA's - they are so light, look awesome and are so well made. Plus they are known to work really well. Dave made the small ally cans up for me as I wanted a shorter look to the pipes, and they bolted straight on. I'm sure Mouse will confirm, but Mutt's pipes gained him around 14bhp on the dyno. Dusty

you won't be disappointed with either set of exhaust, they both perform very well.........

What would swarbricks perform like, compared to these newer pipes? They would be the f2 kit pipes?

don't know never tested them, but having setup and tested lots of YPVS's with different makes of pipes on, both TSA's and mine tend to be the best of the bunch TBH (and I am not being biased, just based on fact of the dyno runs etc)

Haha, the brass had been replaced with crappy ally castings by the time I joined (thankfully) ! Spent more time painting gear with black Hammerite than polishing ! I didn't go mad with the polishing on the pipes to be honest. Probably no more than 10 minutes each pipe, on the polishing wheel; 20170813_114336 by David Miller, on Flickr 20170813_114507 by David Miller, on Flickr Easier to keep them nice if they are not fully blinged up.
