Hi all, when setting the float height to the correct 21mm on my 4l1-00 250 Lc carbs, is the measurement taken from where the gasket fits in the resess or is it taken from the outside lip of the main carb body which obviously sits a few mm higher than the actual gasket face ? Many thanks, Shaun

there is a small cut out in the edge where the gasket sits that is for putting your measuring device in (ruler !! )

Thanks mutts,so just to ask ,is the measurement taken from the lowest point in that gap or does the ruler sit on that small ridge that runs between the 2 holes? Sorry to be such a perfectionist but these things need to be exact

Sorry to be such a perfectionist but these things need to be exact either, you have a tolerance of +/- 0.5mm but TBH I use a tolerance of +/- 1mm and never have any issues

That’s good to know mutts, now I’ve set mine i think I will be within +\- 1mm. If I have any set up problems when I get it running I’ll just put everything in a big box and send it all over for you to sort..lol😟
