Since I’ve altered the squish and dome size after my melted piston,it feels like a huge loss in power ,don’t get me wrong it still goes great but it doesn’t wheelie in third anymore in fact it struggles in second, still it night and day compared to my standard lc2

Safer set up now though to prevent a repeat issue?

But you won't have 2 fingers on the clutch and a quivering botty !

But you won't have 2 fingers on the clutch and a quivering botty ! Isn't that the standard approach for riding a 2 smoker?

I know I ride with two finger on the clutch always have ,mind you I’ve had my fair share of melted pistons in my youth

As above
I think a good ignition and carb set up will sort it again

I had just over 70 hp with my engine and it was running 16:1 CR (uncalculated). I put it back to just under 13:1 CR (uncalculated) and i lost about 8 hp. When it was rejetted and V3 reeds were fitted i ended up with more mid range and 1 hp less.

Compression, once the ex port is Closed (as in there is Zero compression below that) is the usually quoted ratio onna 2 stroke. Your numbers are misleading/ meaningless. Compression tester numbers (albeit often variable ) offer Far more real world info

I should have said uncalculated compression ratio. This is a basic measurement that should be done for any two stroke engine being built up from unknown parts. If you don't know this, it might be time start having a read about basic two stroke engine theory. Something which can save a lot of people grief if they use it before upgrading their engines.
Compression meters are great tools for checking the engine. It is better to get your sums right in the beginning and then test it with this tool, than test it and tear the engine back down because your compression is too high or low

It’s not been to muttsnuts yet I’m gathering carb jets n needles I’m waiting on n68 needles I’ve not spoke to him yet either, need to get my finger out I carry hundreds of jets and loads of needles for all the common carbs, think I even have some N68X needles as well, so don't be collecting/buying jets as I carry most sizes from 15 to 70 pilots and 90 to 400+ mains and a host of other carb parts
