Hi guys
last year I thought I’d treat myself to a RD500lc German import, Anyway made a bit of a boo boo and had the fairing re-sprayed the wrong design. Got all the panels on the bike looking great, next step was to put my gear on and take it on a road trip to see why these bikes are so popular, A mile up the road and the temp gauge is on the red, Take the bike back home check the sensor wire and test that the fan is working all ok, then back out to test and the gauge went straight to red again. Back in the garage I found a small leak on the hose from the radiator to the water pump. Removed the water pump cover and found the reason of the needle in the red. The water pump impeller shaft came out and it had broken, Now comes the difficult part the shaft is a no longer available from Yamaha. 🤬
I’m now on the search for another impeller shaft!!!! Please if anybody has one or knows someone who knows where I could purchase one please pm me of email me at dale_46@me.com
