Long and short my wife sold a new horse riding hat for £260 woman had it 2 weeks then said it was damaged, the photos taken at time of sale show no damage as it wasn’t damaged. I was advised to accept the return to photograph and show it wasn’t damaged when sent before this happened she has been refunded I am f**kin fuming

I fuggin hate ebay for things like this. Con artists use their policies to their advantage - funds for her is a prime example How is it right that they take money off you on the word of someone else ? WRONG Dusty

I have two PayPal accounts - one I use regularly when buying from ebay and one I only use as a seller. My 'seller' account is not linked to any of my bank account or credit cards, and if I sell something and receive payment to it I use the funds to pay any shipping costs and my ebay seller fee, then send the remaining balance as a gift to my 'normal' PayPal account. If ebay ever agree to refund a buyer they won't be able to get a penny from me. My 'seller' PayPal account will no doubt show a negative balance and if PayPal want to get that money from me they will have to take me to the Small Claims Court. Whether they will bother turning up is debateable but I certainly will, and have with me the evidence that gives my side of the transaction. Bear in mind Veg that you do have the home address of the purchaser

Fleabay in such cases will always find in favour of the buyer regardless.

I seem to be getting no help as a buyer with my problem
Bought a KR1 rear sprocket for the Hybrid and it didn't fit , It was a JT Sprocket or supposed to be and after a few emails to the manufacturer with a few pics of said sprocket, it turns out to be a fake !
The t**ts are insisting I post it back for a refund even though it's fit for the bin and a fake FFS

It's reasonable to ask for the part back as long as they pay postage.

Spent an hour on the phone arguing with them saying I can prove she has lied made no difference So called the bank they have suspended PayPal as they state they cannot help themselves to your money without your agreement and closed the PayPal and they have classes the payment as fraudulent

It's a real problem with Ebay for sellers. All you can do is insist on registered and insured postage on anything valuable and make the buyer pay for it.
That way, if they claim it's damaged, they should be able to show the damaged packaging and you can start a claim with RM. Always get them to return the goods and make sure its the same product as you sent - serial number or marking it up.
You're still at the mercy of the buyer and the risk is all with the seller these days. Even outside ebay.
If it's something cheap, however annoying, you just have to chalk it up. It's part of the risk / hassle factor to always consider when using ebay.

Yep, eBay always find in favour of the buyer! sucks, even if you have perfect feedback etc and buyer has no feedback. I rarely sell on there for that reason.

I rarely sell on ebay now. If I do sell anything it's cash on collection or bank transfer. I do my upmost not to accept Paypal as there are too many sharks like "funds for her" that use Paypal's lazy rulings to their advantage Dusty

This is why I only sell on Gumtree these days. The last few things I tried to sell on the Bay resulted in the ‘winning bidder’ making some bullshark excuse about not being able to pay but not agreeing to cancel the purchase, meaning I had lodge a dispute and wait 10 days before I could relist the item each time. I now only buy stuff on EBay and even that is not without its problems at times tbh.

Should be called sharkbay, had alot of grief when selling a bike never again, lesson learned. As Ozhammer says even buying has it's problems with chancers on the site.Good idea in theory but as with everything these days the scum seems to come out of the woodwork and mess it up for genuine people,to many scammers and ebay seem to let them get away with it. Amazon are even worse If you have heard of their A-Z guarantee it will send shudders down yer spine ! When I had a battery drill from amazon go faulty I contacted the manufacturer only to find amazon had bought the five year warranty and now it has a one year warranty, luckily it didn’t say on the site so they had to replace it

My latest eBay ploy is never let my password be kept on file, I have to type it in every time I buy anything. And when selling the very second money goes into my PP account I transfer it out!

I do exactly the same thing as soon as it appears in PayPal it gets transferred out to my Bank account where they can't get their hands on it as permissions for access have not been given. I've learned not to trust "anybody" on there I have gone into settings and adjusted everything I can think of there are only a small handful of places outside the UK I'm prepared to sell to/deal with. I have blocked bidders who have low feedback or sellers who have a bad reputation as well as those known to retract bids at the drop of a hat etc etc, a while back I sold a pair of fairly new bike boots not a mark on them "then noticed the buyers Username which I couldn't even pronounce obviously not of this country and immediately had a bad feeling. The guy never even picked them up from the sorting office after Royal Mail attempted delivery he left them there THEN got in touch with eBay told them they were damaged and demanded his money back which eBay gave him even after I contacted them and advised them what was going on.
I'd obviously spoken to someone at that sorting office after checking the tracking details to be told they were sat there waiting on a shelf and phoned them for a good four days on the run to make sure they "were still there which they still were. Two things came of this A. eBay refunded him themselves they told me they weren't going to come after me for it (they wouldn't have got it anyway)and it wasn't going to go against "me. The other thing was because I have "No returns stipulated in my selling details I couldn't get them back which tbh is fair comment as I'd received payment for them so as such they were donated to an unnamed charity .. I'm always VERY wary when selling and do as much as possible to protect myself but when it happens you just gotta deal with it and hope it goes your way its all you can do.

i had shit with a german bloke. sold him a NOS f2 belly pan. not in original packaging and been on shelf for years. as such 9/10 item. maybe lost in translation as he expected a new part.. it was almost mint but after all 30 years old. and clear photos and description. ebay wanted to give money back so i sent him a stern message and he gave in after some faffing about and accepted the part. it shouldnt have gone even that far. i´m totally clear on my descriptions .. 100% feedback from sales worldwide. it really pissed me off.
