Sorry to hear you’re hanging your leathers up Mr K ☹️. I’ve really enjoyed reading your build threads, and picked up some good information along the way.
Best of luck with your other projects Pal, I’m certain they’ll be as ‘exceedingly good’ as your build threads👍🏻🤗

Sorry to hear that, but it can and does happen Last year a good friend of mine, who was in his sixties and a full time carer for his mother popped down the shops to get a few bits on his bike(KTM 690)when a van jumped the red traffic light and my mate was killed. Luckily the rest of the family has all pulled together and are looking after his mother,or else she’d be in a nursing home. Wish you well Baz

Sorry to hear that you want to quit, but like you say your other half is very important.
Are you going to move into showing your engine at shows?
I will be still badgering you with questions if you don't mind. I have really enjoyed your build threads and i will miss them.

Admire your decision Mr K, as mentioned, a very selfless thing to do, and I suppose when faced with reality, it's probably the best decision, although not the easiest. Best wishes to you both, as it sound like there's hope around the corner, loved your threads and rebuilds, maybe you will start again in a few years, here's hoping.

Woah woah woah Mr K - not so fast !! Keep enough for a future project. Before you know it you and the missus will be up and about and better than ever with any luck I don't really ride any more - I get my kicks out of building projects, and I don't think you are the kind of guy to move away from bikes - you are too knowledgeable and talented ! I understand you may not want to risk riding, but building awesome specials is obviously something you are good at, and should carry on doing. Get your ops out of the way before you decide what to do - staying "in the game" might be the best tonic you can have, post op Good luck mate Dusty

I agree with Dusty act in haste, repent at leasure, unless you absolutely have to sell, then don't, wait a while, if then you decide its best then so be it, have really enjoyed your various threads.

WTF? Don't quit mate your builds are bloody amazing. And if like Dusty you prefer building to riding these days please at least keep your hand in...do a slower rebuild of something (if that's possible for you lol) Alex

Dear Mr Kipling. Last year I decided to sell up as I was in a bit of a confrontation with the Grim Reaper.....but facing never riding again was...well...worse than being in a headlock with said hooded t**t. I have only managed 1 ride in the last 18 months but it was well worth keeping hold of my ride as that one ride was near f**king priceless. Bikes are to me, life! And when I'm without one it wont matter coz I'll be dead. Keep one ready in the background buddy!

Got to agree with lots of the above Mr K. Even if you decide that not riding is your way forward which everyone I think respects keep your hand 🤚 n building. Your bikes are awesome and an inspiration for others. Most of us are long time bike riders of probably upwards of 30 years. There have been times when I have been close to jacking it all in and reading this I have realised I haven’t ridden since last summer when I had a big scare on my 1200 monster. I hope to ride my LC when it’s finished will I ride like I’m 21 again nope will I ride in the rain and snow like I used to nope. Will I build another special probably. Whatever you decide will I know be respected but I know what I am like without a bike nearly unbearable. It gives me peace of mind tinkering away building its my escape from the pressures of life and is my bolt hole. Take it easy Tim

Very sad to hear this Mr K
There is nothing wrong with spending quality time with your wife, life together is much more important than life alone
We don’t say goodbye, we will see you next time wherever and whever that will be
All the very best to both of you and please don’t be a stranger in here

Hey Mr K, Sorry to hear about what must have been a tough decision to make. You've made it for all the right reasons and It'll be rewarding for you. I don't think that we're that far away from each other.. If you ever feel the need to scratch the itch and have ride again, please give me a call.. We'll have a little pootle out somewhere like Box Hill or Newlands Corner for a coffee and a natter and then a bimble back. You might have to ride a four stroke, depending on the garage stock... I'll PM you my number again. Reg

Mr K. Being a relative newcomer to the forum I have really enjoyed all of your posts and, as quite clearly stated above, I have not been the only one. Your vision and meticulous attention to detail has produced some of the finest machines I have ever seen and has undoubtedly inspired many on this forum to do so as well. We are all saddened to hear that you have decided to hang up your leathers, and tools, however I am sure that every single one of us would like to wish you and your good lady all the very best and enjoy your time relaxing together. Thank again mucker, you will be sorely missed. All the best John
