My Tigcraft framed YPVS is coming together nicely and I plan to road register the bike and fit it will full electrics including lights etc so it will be practical ish to use on the road, my question is has anyone gone down the SVA route ? as the bike has a one off frame and many one off parts made and fitted I was wondering is there anything I need to take into consideration beyond the obvious that would cause problems come SVA time.

Nah
Get a scrap ypvs frame with a v5, stamp the number on the headstock then cut up the ypvs frame😁
Amazing what you could do in the 80's
I have a mate with a Harris magnum and it is simply registered as a z1

Is anybody seriously going to query it?
Not as if it is being passed off as an original ypvs
Do you think plod will say "that's not the correct font"
I do have a v5 from a chopped frame 😉

Try and avoid SVA as you need to comply with current rules, massive pain in the arse. Get a set of letter and number punches!
Any frame number and V5 will do, don't need to be from a 2 stroke bike does it.

Tony at Gibson was sorting an Marborough RD500 with a MiCo frame from Oz and had to hand stamp the black frame with alocated frame number, plus loads of other stuff required to meet SVArequirements, was a right pain. Loads os silly little thimgs, it's doable but can be a lot of work.

Don't you need ABS for a 2018 registered bike
Q plate otherwise
Also needs to be something like 95% new

forgot, it will be on a Q plate too, any Yamaha frame number and V5 will do the job.

The bonus of using a ypvs frame number opposed to an fzr is that as it's a steel frame technically you could have used a ypvs headstock and built the frame around it 😉
