Gutted for you mate
This is the problem with painters not using 2 pack.
Makes my decision whether to use him quite easy now

Hi stusco, I share your pain mate I got my tank painted at the same place as you after seeing pictures of your finished bike.I noticed last week under the petrol cap the paint is starting to peel away and flake off and I have been very careful every time I refuel looks like paint job number 3

The pinstripe should line with the bottom edge of the main decal Look at my modded lc2 thread on page 2 of the rebuilds. Shows the tank decal clearly Steve

WhyTF would you not use petrol proof paint or lacquer on a pet tank? I've managed to swill pet on every bikes tank I've ever owned. Might as well paint the f**ker with emulsion from b and q ffs..

Curious.. why there's still No revealing who this Genius painter was? 1 being polite and 2 being the fact he want him to sort it if you know what I mean Finding someone over here who actually uses old school 2 pack is near impossible Yes they say the use 2 pack lacquer and they ain't lying as in it has a paint and an activator but it ain't the air fed mask required isocyawhatthefeckyoucallit I've checked the 2 main motorcycle accident repair places up here and they say the use modern petrol resistant paint. That don't sound like good old 2 pack I think the whole paint industry over here is driven by the car business and the modern paint is fine with them but due to the powers that be wanting less hazardous paint the modern stuff is now the norm Steve

The last information i knew but it's old now, cars and bikes had to be painted with the new hippie paint and industrial equipment including trucks could be painted with the decent 2K stuff.
