Cheers Matt Took a better vid in daylight today. Bike starts really easily and settles nicely into tickover. Pump is now supplying oil up to the carbs so the tank can go on next; Dusty

Nearly finished now New petrol tap fitted and petrol in the tank so that's done. The tank is an original and is the cleanest I've ever seen inside - no rust, just bright metal, so that's a result. Headlight fitted, and all electrics fitted and working. Seat on too. Just a chain to buy, then an MOT, and then sell it !! 20190316_120053 by dusty miller, on Flickr Dusty

I love that front end, looks so right to me. Bike is A1 to me. I think I might be polishing my pipes having seen these.

I didn't go mad polishing the pipes - a few minutes each on the buffing wheel. If you go too shiney, they are more work to keep that way. And the front end does look great . But it's a lot of work as conversions go. Don't think I would want to get it done if I was starting from scratch. The forks have been shortened to match the length of an Lc's forks, then there is the work in the top yoke and the spacers for the discs etc. Makes an Rgv front end seem a doddle (which it is really !) Nice that it's kept the Lc wheels though as most hybrid running gear uses modern designs. I really like the bike, but it needs to make way for the café build. Dusty

Good info thanks, as for the forks, I remember you said about the amount of work to do it.

Yea, the café racer is sat waiting in the garage !!. Really excited about building that as it's going to be very different to my last couple of Lc hybrid builds. This Lc has turned out really nice though. I've had it just about a year now - I never rush these things !! - and was lucky the powdercoating and engineering had already been done. I feel like I've finished what someone else had started. Still spent a lot of time and money getting to this point though, but it's been worth it Dusty

Thanks fellas Tried not to go too mad on this one !! Would quite like to keep it as I really like it, which is funny coz when I bought it I didn't think it would turn out as nice as it has. I love that front end, and would like to know who did the work. It looks factory, it's finished so well. But it will go to make room, and fund the café racer project that I am itching to start on properly. Plus the orange hybrid hasn't been touched in about 18 months or so, and needs finishing, so plenty to do Dusty

Well, she is done. A new heavy duty X ring chain arrived today so I fitted that and was ready to take her around the block when I realised I have misplaced the gear lever retaining circlip ! Cant find that anywhere, so I've ordered a new one. Test ride will be Saturday morning now, just before the MOT, which is booked for 11.30 !! I love the pipes, they sound awesome, especially with a bit of throttle !! 20190320_154334 by dusty miller, on Flickr 20190320_154324 by dusty miller, on Flickr Dusty
