Hi Bezzer, I haven't used the Yambits one, but have the one Norbo sells. There doesn't seem to be a lot of difference and its a fair bit cheaper.

I'm searching for this answer too lol. Have a few mm play in mine so need to sort it, saw this kit, about to order but then saw your "marmite reputation" quote & thought I'd best see if anyone posts lol
Looked a good idea but if it's naff quality?? Still for the few hundred miles it will do every year, can it be any worse than what I have now

Still for the few hundred miles it will do every year, can it be any worse than what I have now Hi Mate, I only say ‘marmite reputation’, as if you look back at threads on this forum, some members say avoid them like the plague, others say they’ve used their parts without issue. I do agree with your view though, how much worse can it be than a near 40 year old part with commensurate wear?.

Honestly Yambits stuff is usually fine. The oil pump cable on the their throttle cables was never the correct size and others have reported problems with crank shaft oil seals. To be fair I used their crankshaft oil seals with no issues and they were still good after 8 years. I only replaced them with originals when I recently did a full engine rebuild.
Try the swinging arm repair kit, if its no good let them know and ask for your money back, or just wait for Norbo to get more stock.

Sage advice Jack, cables and crank seals - you’re better using original parts, as they’re still available.
The swing arm kit has to be better than using the stock nylon bushes etc, I’ll give it a go.

Where are you getting the new cables Bezzer? Need a throttle cable and clutch cable and oem would be great. Or what are the best cables these days?

Every Yambit part I have bought has been perfect. But I'd avoid any cable and am amazed the oil seals lasted 8 years, use gen Yam ones.

Hi Simon, Got OEM throttle, clutch and speedo cables for my 250 from Fowler’s. Not cheap, but great service, they acknowledge your order and keep you informed of delivery etc.

You can get phosphor bronze swing arm bushes off Norbo instead of the plastic ones. There is also a later "white metal" type bush available from Yamaha.

Alex ...Throttle cable for my 500 fitted fine, when items are NLA the choice sometimes only comes down to a ropey 30+ year old one off eBay or Yambits. Id rather buy new from Yambits if that is the option.
