So i've been thinking about using a YZF125 dash on my Hybrid, one of the good things is it an electronic speedo with a drive on the front wheel. The problem is the spindles smaller, so I wondered if anybody had tried to increase the size of a drive? Its got a fairly chucky metal centre but holding it to machine may be a problem. I just wondered.

Not done it but imagine it's difficult and may destroy it
Would also be concerned about the strength left in it
I'd get a meter on it and check if it is just a pulse sender like a magnet ant reed switch which I'd guess it is.
If one pulse per revolution just get a koso sensor and a magnetic disc bolt

If you went down the machining route, how about making an 'adapter' that would fit into the drive instead? Assuming that you have enough space to fit such a converter piece in??

I'm still looking at options here, the 125 unit is worth a try ad the bits are so cheap, I like the idea of a "Yamaha" unit but still may go down Koso or R1 units yet.

Yep, I’ve done it to a Yamaha drive.
It looks to me that are all the same blank, and then drilled to size. I can’t comment on your model though.
I couldn’t find my FZR one, so drilled our a YPVS one to put a rolling chassis together.
Typically I’ve now found the FZR one, Doh.

The issue will still be mating the drive to the RGV wheel, not sure it will be possible as RGV uses the 4 pieces to locate and drive it.

However do I remember correctly from threads on here that RGV drives have 2 prongs and GSXR have 4? Maybe I’ve got it the wrong way round? Jon
