Ive got a complete 1998 R6 front end with blue spots. It works well except for turning circle and they look to fat in my opinion. There is a member on here i think ritch which had the yam 400 forks which are 41 mm with blue spots and it looks more in proportion. Much better

Good forks, but would need brackets made up for blue spots as the bolt centres are different.

Yes 43mm not ideal as not going ott on next build.
I've bit the bullet and bought a set of fzs600 fazer forks/yokes
Hopefully will work out as fit blue spots and fazer discs should fit the sr500 hub I'm intending to use.
Even 17mm spindle like the sr and has bad risers
Fingers crossed
Steve

TZR250 3MA RWU forks are 41mm and 2MA forks are 39mm. I think they both just bolt in with a 5mm spacer under the bottom bearing.

I looked thundercat but the front muddy is a bit bulky.
I'm trying to not look a million miles from standard
Think the front spindle was too big too
They are really good value though

However I’ll be running 120 section front, and either a 150 or 160 rear so it may look less chunky. Jon

The sr wheel should be the same they have a black plastic cover over the disc bolt holes from memory, same as an xs650 hub but they are getting v expensive

I have an XS650 hub, but am struggling to find bearings with a small enough I/d to accept the LC spindle. Apologies for clouding your post Steve!.

Could you not get top hats spacers made as bearing inners? Or is that a stupid idea? Not being an engineer an all

Not a problem bezzer As said it is threaded for twin discs. I believe it is the same hub as xs650 I paid 95 quid for a nos one Bearing wise you will probably have to get a sleeve made just shorter that the wheel/spacer/Speedo drive and use an sr/xs drive to take it down from 17mm to 12mm I have the opposite problem with the tdr rear. 15mm bearings but 17mm spindle on my arm. That and the tdr wheel I bought seems too bloody good to butcher Steve

Thanks Steve for the info mate & Veg for the spacer suggestion. I think the disc faces on mine, may need to be turned down a tad to centralise the discs within the calipers too?. We’ll see 🤫

We’ll see 🤫 What forks are you using? I may have a spare set of fzr 250 yokes (clip on style top ) I bought it on oldelsieboy's advice as they are 35mm like ypvs but spaced 10mm further apart Steve

The FZR yokes sound a good proposition as they’ll most likely accommodate the XS hub without modification?.

It's not just diameter to bear in mind but also length (ooeerr Missus). TZR 2MA forks are quite long and you need to drop them though the yokes to get the front end sitting at the right height. I checked out lots of different 41mm forks(TDM850, TRX etc) and were all too long. I am running gen 1 Fazer 600 forks and they work fine and are just about perfect length. They have the added advantage of 100mm caliper spacing so blue spots etc drop straight on and have a 17mm spindle.

I had them shortened (35mm from memory?) and re-threaded for the caps for a little over £100. Jon
