Anybody ever made a " bolt on " side stand spacer to stop the stand retracting to much and hitting the exhaust pipe.? Tks

Mine has a drilling taped to accept a small Allen bolt, stops the sidestand hitting the exhaust (BMW stand) can just see it in the pic below, possible to do the same to the original stand?

Having a side stand made by Nk because when you fit his rear sets you can’t fit the standard one. Inspired bit of marketing 😀

Tks I don’t know exactly what you mean, but understand the stand hitting the exhaust. In a lot of cases this is wear in the pivot area. The spring then pulls the stand towards the exhaust. I mount my springs on the outside so any wear will pull it further from the exhaust.

The wear to the hole in the frame mounting bracket & the sidestand is easily rectified by fitting some appropriately sized bushes. OEB

OEB This may be a quick fix for a worn hole, but it something I check on all projects before powder coating the frame. Beat way is weld up and re-drill proper size. Jon

Yes,some great idea's there.. It's like as if the powder coat had taken up the slack and has now worn.. P.S. i should of put a bush on the gear shaft aswell..doh.!!

had same problem - all i did was use a very thin washer/shim like you find on gearbox output shafts to reduce back lash etc and fitted that between the side stand and the frame mount - this took up the free play and now the stand does not hit the exhaust - its a bit of a tight fit mind and the side stand takes a good tug - come on keep it clean - to put down but i would rather have the stand a bit stiff than flapping about on a worn pivot
