Guys can I reuse a gen yam head gasket again? Itβs been on 1 year and done around 1800 miles . Thanks Others will probably chime in, but here my two cents. A multilayer gasket with one time sealant is not meant to be reused. I have seen others reuse them by removing the other layers and spraying it with copper gasket spray, I don't recommend such practice. I know that OEM head gaskets are not cheap but they are the best one's out there imho You can buy copper gaskets elsware that are reusable if you choose to do so. Cheers

I would not recommend use unless you genuinely have no money
Norbo does them for Β£25 I'm sure
As previously said it is difficult to reseal between the layers

Ok thanks lads , I do have a new (Athena ) one anyone used these before? I have used athena and other aftermarket brands in the past with mixed results. If you already have it why not used it right , re-torque after a couple of heat cycles just to be sure. Cheers.

3 leaf style Head gaskets ARE reusable, Multiple times. IF... the stamped ridges have not been flattened into uselessness (those do the sealing work) Unusual though at ~20 ftlbs torques. Spray the things with Permatex Copper coat HG sealant and yer good to go.. repeatedly.. with confidence.

I use Athena gaskets all the time and always had great results, although only use them once. I usually torque to about 90% then run engine for 10 mins at tickover/low revs to warm up and halp seal the gasket them re-torque to 100%, and then check torque setting after say 100 miles.
