I put the plate on a flat surface and pressed lightly around the pin. You have to be careful though because it can come flying out like a missile so it be easy to lose. i put a tissue over it to prevent it from taking off.

Lay the dial face down on the edge of a roll of masking tape or similar & using a fine nail punch press the pin out.

If you don't want the face cut it out with wire snips, if you do, pliers with tape on, twist and pull.

Placed the dial on a roll of masking tape, a few taps and out. I wrapped it in blu tac just in case it flew off somewhere. It's now on the new dial face, thanks everyone.
