Possibly a silly question, what's people thoughts on the Chinese body work kits. Basically is it likely to devalue the bike when sold ? Or repair old panels . They are a mess

Seen a couple of sets that mates have had, one on an FZR400 the other on an NC30. Not perfect by any means but for the money they look bloody excellent. The ones I saw came ready painted and look bang on. There were a few minor imperfections and the fit round the back light are wasn't perfect but for the money (about £300 all in) you can't really beat them.

There appears to be a range of qualities depending on the supplier, so get a recommendation from someone who has used the supplier you choose.

I used to steer well clear of anything Chinese but their products are getting better and better. I've seen those fairings for sale and they do look very good.

I fitted a set to an RGV, they were awful around the seat and the screw 'towers' on the front fairing were very very skinny we had to use smaller screws.

I bought some a while back for my Ducati and a 3ma set. Considering they are pre painted I think they are a very good budget solution to tidy a bike. Particularly if you want to go do a track day and run the risk of trashing OE panels. The ones I had weren’t as substantial as OE but good value for money.

Friend who has a 600rr Like Mine Crashed his Genuine Honda body plastics are North of 2000$ Yess they are avaricious. He bought some online chinese ones instead ~500$. They are Komplete Crap... Poorly fitting.. Most mountings inoperable/wrong places also V Thin and badly made in general. That said: His Bike looks good.. from 30 ~ 40' away. Only possible uses IMO are: on a Racer where Body quality is irrelevant and Price matters On a beater one hopes to sell on to some dimly aware type

Thats the crazy thing really, they look great from a distance or off the bike. It wouldnt have cost any more to manufacture them properly, just a bit more R and D at the start, yet the Chinese seem to fall down on that, seems like the guys in those jobs are ADD kids or something.
