I was sure I saw this a while back but can't find it. Is there a converter so a KMH speedo will show miles on the odometer and not kilometres?
Cheers everyone, Alex.

I've done a load of lc2 and ypvs ones which should be the same as lc as made by the same company.
A mph face will make the speed read correct but the distance is still in Kim's
To sort that I've used a few kinds of donor Speedos but mainly mk2 2/3 125 lc
If you strip the speedo out the housing you will see 2 gear shafts that run off the main drive head
If you bend down the bottom tab (fit the 2 screws that hold it into the speedo housing to support the drive head) the first shaft comes out allowing the second one out
Fit the shafts out the donor speedo and bend the tab back
Fit new face and job done, speed and distance in miles

That's great to know Steve, I don't suppose that you took any pictures whilst doing all that?

That's great news, thanks for the tip, I have an old RD speedo I will use that as the donor.

A while back i saw you could buy a reduction gear unit for the speedo drive, but ive not seen one recently. These were plentiful during the peak of the 400 import times but seem to have dried up now. I dare say the lc crowd don't want the 200 face though and the rivet counters will frown at the fitted converter Steve

I saw so many imports back in the day at places like D K and they all had stickers on em, I think ride Mag even gave away a set f stickers lol. I wish Id bought one of those coverters to play with. The on I linked was for a Halda in a rally car really and not cheap at all :/
I need to convert my 421 to have a closer read on the speedo, its got 17s on it. I really must test the rolling radius and see how far out I am :/

I could do that Steve, but rather a converter if there was one. I need to work out how much im out, not as much as km-mph tho of course. Perhaps my XT500 would be more like that tho lol 21inch to 17.
The blue one listed is much better value and i would also put that ay the clock end to save it from rain water as much as possible.

Gear type Converter (IF one can be found) is ideal as it's easily removable... at will. No anorak issues whatsoever. Tape your Phone to the Tank and use it's GPS function to generate your 'actual' speed, then put marks (sharpie or sticky dots .. your choice) on your clock face indicating the legal speeds .
