The OEM flasher unit for many of our bikes seems to be this unit. ND make decent stuff, but for some reason these dont work and i dont understand why.
Ive 3 of them on my bench and none of them work in my bikes. This is what Ive found when fitted with the correct bulbs and on my LC:
- with the yellow/green wires connected they subtly click once when powered up and then again after a few seconds of you turning them off.
- with the black wire connected they tick away like crazy things.
Anyone have any ideas whats wrong with them?

Is it not the pin orientation that is wrong

Hmm, good thought as it could well be that... It's an old loom who knows whats happened to it over the years... do you know what pin goes to what terminal?

Hi jonw , as midlife said it is likely the terminals in the block need swapping . I have used car ones for years now and the terminals need moving round in the connector block . My Tzr 350 has six indicators so I used a car type .

Check to see what is on the flasher unit / x is supply l is indicator switch p is indicator lamp . on an electronic car type/ 49 is supply 49a is indicator switch / 31 is earth . these are handy if you have resistance issues or if you have different bulbs around the bike .

Thanks to all who helped here, I now have these working like a charm I really wanted to use the OEM unit, and spent some considerable time to locate OEM units to do so, as this is a restoration, so car ones and other aftermarkets wont do. This is the post that was gold for me, thanks Nigel, you're a star mate! A picture tells a thousand words is very true in this case. my wires were swapped round to run some other unit.
