Hi Lads, Any idea what the wear limit should be for the steel clutch plates on a 350 4L0?. Checked for warpage & all good. I’m at work so no access to a manual! 😬

Service limit is 2.7mm I believe.

I just got some genuine Yamaha steel plates from norbo and they measure 1.18mm, don’t know what the wear limit is though, the friction plate wear limit is 2.7mm.Hope this helps.

Thanks chaps, Yes it’s the steel plate measurement I need, mine are all around 1.16 to 1.18, so perhaps not too badly worn?. There is no distortion or ‘blueing’ so may be reusable. Out of interest would you lightly scotchbrite the faces to aid bedding in of the new friction plates?. Many thanks bezzer

IF the steels are not visibly Blued, Ridged or Warped they are good. Rare to have to replace oem Yama steels.

I took a set to work and cleaned them with a very fine blaster (used for cleaning fuel injector parts). These were a little rusty. when fitted I did not notice any difference. Maybe it would make a difference with a powerful engine until they bed in.
