Has anybody tried those Durafix Ali welding kits? Seen them around a lot at shows a such like, seems simple enough. I have a few dents in my RGV arm and it seems this would be an easy way of repairing it or at least looking at their videos it does. One thing that worries me is how low temps it uses, it would be a bit of a problem if it melted while in the powder coaters oven.

I dunno about that specific kit but I've used similar with mixed results, the best one I got is from a Swedish guy who goes to a lot of car shows etc in the UK, he sells it by the meter, you use a blow torch and 'scratch' through the molten pool with a screwdriver basically.
It does work but like with anything else, best to practice on scrap pieces first,....he makes it look so easy.

According to their website it melts at 388 Celsius
Powdercoating ovens are usually about 200 Celsius
I did buy another brand OD alloy repair rod and struggled to get it to melt never mind stick to the surface

May be worth a try then, I cant find anybody around me interested in touching my swinging arm. I don't want to fill and spray as its not really as thought, powder would seem a better option.

Phil NK did mine for 30 quid but he was doing the conversion on it If not for that I'd have tried this stuff as by the time you pay post each way it mounts up Steve
