Has anyone got experience of rebuilding a rear shock from either and LC or a ypvs?
Im considering pulling apart a few shocks and have a few questions... I know guys have done RGVs so this should be much the same right?
- I assume they are filled with Nitrogen? if so what psi? - Will it explode with a billion psi if i undo it? how did you let the gas escape? - Did you fit a valve in the body? welded or screwed in? or filled it some other way? - What seals did you need and are they anything special or just standard types? - Who does the decals?
Ive probably got more questions, but for now thats it... LO!L

My shock was rebuilt by a motox shop and a schrader valve added to the body, so Yes, it can be done.

Cool Thanks for that.
Anyone have answers to the question about how much nitrogen needs to go into these?

Recently done my RGV shock and the rebuilder said that it requires 12 bar (about 177 psi) of nitrogen pressure.
Having a valve fitted let’s you try different pressures and decide yourself..

Thanks Kostas, good point. Did you weld or thread and then screw in the valve?

Thanks Kostas, good point. Did you weld or thread and then screw in the valve? The RGV comes with a valve installed on the remote bottle from the factory. Maybe copper can tell us how the valves are attached on his shock Kostas
