I just spent the afternoon trying to wash petrol away from the front of my garage after my leaky fuel tap filled the crank cases with petrol,I thought it was all out after running up and down the street with the plugs out but no !when it started it sprayed half the street with petrol ,the neighbors are not impressed, and it runs like shite it’s like the pilots it just bogs down when I tried to pull away

It should eventually evaporate from the tarmac
As for the crap running, did you refit the vac pipe

It will run like sh1t till all remains of fuel are out
You are lucky it didn't hydraulic lock and bend a rod or twist the crank

It was charged a couple of weeks ago and is a cheap battery but has been zero degrees since I’ll try that tomorrow

More issues there than a Dodgy Tap methinks. IF the Carb float /needles were actually working there wouldn't be an engine full of fuel.

Not impossible I only put the fuel in to check the tap it failed !,bought a new tap and found the engine/exhaust full of fuel.the carbs seemed fine when running on an external tank
